there are no real national holidays in the month of august. i think every other month out of the year has *some* recognized holiday of some sort, but not august. but you know that crazy people are going to assign crazy themes for otherwise boring days throughout the year, and according to multiple sources, august 17th is....

like that shit was MADE for my birthday. *and* goodwill always gives you a discount on your birthday, too!
also according to that last link above, it is also national men's grooming day. so. g can get a haircut. or trim his eyebrows. or shave his pubes or something. ALL FOR MY BIRTHDAY.
but srsly, i don't need anything for my birthday. i'm pretty content with all of the goodies i have. but, if you're interested in some ideas for how to best celebrate the 67th anniversary of indonesia's proclamation of independence from japan, here's some shit i like:
